Save the date are the first informations to send your guests as you want to make sure they will attend you wedding celebration.
very popular those last years, Save-the-Date are a must have when planning a destination wedding.
#1 | Save-the-date: when to be sent?
Save the date are sent prior the formal invitations.
As soon as you have the venue and so the date, you can work on the save-the-date.
=> If you start planning your wedding less than 1 year before the wedding : Ideally January / February of the year of your wedding.
It’s the perfect time to mention your happy celebration to come.
=> If you’re planning your wedding more than 15 months before te wedding day : ideally as soon as you have the venue confirmed.
#2 | Save-the-date: what format?
Let’s be creative : you have several possibilities!
Digital
Paper
- Card with words only
- Photo of you two
Note: if you plan to have paper save-the-date, make sure you have the final design already done at this stage. This first card you send gives the tone of your wedding’s aesthetic.
#3 | Save-the-date: what infos ?
- Your two names
- Date of your wedding (several days if appropriate)
- Location (area)
- Inclue a note that let your guests know that a formal invitation will follow.
